The JNJG Harvey Norman Week of Golf concluded at Muirfield on Friday 11th January 2019.

A field of 168 under 18 years golfers competed in the last of 5 rounds of scratch competition golf over 5 days playing at North Ryde, Pennant Hills, Avondale, Cumberland and Muirfield Golf Courses.

Muirfield had 8 junior members playing in the tournament with and for 4 of our Muirfield representatives this was their first experience of tournament competition.

All of our Muirfield Juniors acquitted themselves admirably during the week with the rookies coming away much more accomplished golfers due to the experience.

Highlights for the week included Andrew Luu and new member Camilla Kim completing their first ever 18 hole rounds on the first day of the tournament. The smiles on Andrew and Camilla’s faces got bigger as the week progressed, thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Lyle Keith won 2 game day awards for his rounds at Avondale and Cumberland.

Steph Frankcombe completed her first multi round event by finishing as runner up in the girl’s nett competition.

Thanks must again go out to all the Muirfield volunteers, coordinated by Ruth Le Nevez,  who did a fantastic job in assisting the young golfers on Friday and ensured that Muirfield will again host the final round on this prestigious junior tournament again in 2020.

Junior League

The JNJG Junior League competition for our Tyro members kicks off on February 10th.

Ruth has been busy organising the squad of players who will represent Muirfield in this 2 man Ambrose teams event.

Practice rounds for interested squad members have been arranged for Friday, January 18th at 9.30 AM and for the following Friday January 25th at 12.30 PM.

Please meet in the pro shop before proceeding to one of our Tyro courses for some on course tuition in the 2 man Ambrose format.
