Muirfield V North Ryde.
The final result of a loss by 3.5 matches to 2.5 matches probably didn’t reflect the efforts put in on the day by the team. The close matches that we had been able to covert into wins earlier in the season just didn’t fall our way but it certainly was not from a lack of effort on behalf of all the team members.A very pleasing aspect of the day was again the determination showed by Muirfield with 4 of the matches going very deep into the back 9 and two finishing on the 18th.Also it was great to see the support for the team by not only the parents but by the club as a whole with many of the major pennants team, our club patrons, club captain and members of the board turning up to lend their combined support. The wash up from the last game was that we needed a win to progress and our narrow defeat means that our opponents on the day, North Ryde will now progress to semi finals. We finished 4th in our division on 2 wins and 3 losses, a result that I feel is not really indicative of how well we played over the last 5 weeks. My thanks to all the players and those who have supported the team through the divisional rounds and I hope you will all consider backing up again next year where we can put the experience gained this year to good use.Regards,Rick
